Accelerate Cic

The reason for this site accessing patient GP records is:

A shared care record provides health and care staff with a selected view of the patient information held within different local health and care settings.

Where a shared care record has used GP Connect an up-to-date view of the medical record held at the patients' registered GP has been provided. The shared care record user can access information such as the list of current and historical GP prescribed medications, recorded allergies and a record of recent GP encounters – alongside data from other sources such as local hospital trust and social care systems.

Data sharing limitations:

GP Connect permits the sharing of patient data only for the purpose of direct care and is only available in England.

Additional Information:

Accelerate CIC is a commissioned specialist service providing lymphoedema and wound care across North East London. We deliver care to both locally registered patients and patients residing outside our immediate geographical area who are referred into our service. To support the delivery of safe and effective patient care, a data sharing agreement is in place with the North East London Integrated Care Board (NEL ICB), covering the sharing of relevant patient information between participating organisations. As part of our clinical system migration to EMIS, we have been requested to implement GP Connect functionality to support appropriate access to primary care information, improve clinical decision-making, and ensure continuity of care for our patients. Accelerate CIC has completed the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and maintains compliance with NHS information governance and data protection requirements.
