The reason for this site accessing patient GP records is:
Optometrists have access to a restricted view of the patient's GP record to obtain key information on a patient's eyecare needs and to support the patient referrals to secondary care, they may also be sending an summary of the encounter back to the GP if the patient attends for an appropriate reason
